PIMCU Hosted On-Site Meeting of Legislative Assembly of Trans-Baikal Territory
The delegation of the regional representative authority was headed by Dmitry Tyuryukhanov, currently acting chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Trans-Baikal Territory. Besides, a deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation representing Transbaikalia, Vasilina Kulieva, arrived to Krasnokamensk.
The members of the Council were informed about the progress in implementing the most important for PIMCU and Krasnokamensk investment project on the development of the Argunskoye and Zherlovoye uranium deposits (construction of Mine No. 6). The deputies visited the construction site, examined the erected and under-construction aboveground infrastructure facilities, including the main step-down substation and mine water treatment plants.
At the meeting of the Council, a report of the PIMCU Director General Ivan Kiselev was heard on the enterprise development prospects and the progress in the construction of Mine No. 6. «PIMCU is a unique enterprise that extracts uranium by underground mining. In the next few decades, this status will be upheld. Builders, process engineers, contractors, all professional staff of PIMCU are involved in solving a single task. Work is done in accordance with the schedule. The project implementation will allow maintaining the existing production infrastructure, technical and managerial competencies, jobs,» said Ivan Kiselev.
In response to deputies’ questions, the PIMCU Director General said that the reserves of PIMCU existing Mines No. 1 and No. 8 would be mined at least until 2030. «No break is planned between the completion of production at the existing mines and the start of development of the Argunskoye and Zherlovoye deposits — on the contrary, the three mines will be operated simultaneously during several years,» Ivan Kiselev emphasized. Following the meeting, the Council decided to recommend that the Committee for Economic Policy and Enterprise of the regional parliament, together with the relevant ministries of the Trans-Baikal Territory government, work out proposals on possible measures to support PIMCU, PJSC at the regional level. It was recommended that PIMCU, PJSC submit a report on the use of funds allocated for the construction of Mine No. 6 in 2018 and inform the Legislative Assembly of the Territory about launching facilities of Mine No. 6 as they are being put into operation.
Commenting on the results of work in Krasnokamensk, a deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation representing Transbaikalia, Vasilina Kulieva, mentioned that the deputies of the Lower House of the country’s Parliament constantly have a focus on PIMCU: «We are closely cooperating with PIMCU and ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. During the on-site meeting, we satisfied ourselves that work would continue, and the necessary funds are available. Impressions of the trip are positive. At the construction site, we saw that the prospects are good. Employees are working, the process is on. We hope that the mine will be built on time.»
Acting chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Trans-Baikal Territory Dmitry Tyuryukhanov, in his turn, told the reporters: «At PIMCU, they use systematic approach to work. Now we have comprehensive understanding that in the near future Mine No. 6 will be launched, and Krasnokamensk will continue its sustained development. » The PIMCU Director General expressed his gratitude to the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Trans-Baikal Territory and the State Duma of the Russian Federation for their constant focus on the construction of Mine No. 6 and expressed confidence in further constructive cooperation.
