ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. took part in V Anniversary Forum “NDexpo 2018” and presented Smart Mine innovational project
The project is aimed at optimization of uranium extraction process using in-situ leaching.
About 15 hundred people participated in the forum, among which are representatives of large Russian and foreign companies, venture funds, scientific community and developers of digital products. The forum’s key theme was “High Technologies for Sustained Development” within the framework of which Rosatom proposed new projects and solutions assuring the technological leadership of Russia.
The Smart Mine project was included in the set of products of the Directorate for Digital Transformation of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation aimed at the implementation of IT-technologies and improvement of business efficiency. Globally this project is oriented on the creation of the leading edge uranium mining enterprises with efficient economics and high competiveness on the world market.
Experts of the company told the participants of the forum about the advantages of digital production, having highlighted that the Smart Mine pilot project was implemented on the site of Khiagda, JSC and had its first results. In particular, thanks to the use of 3D modeling it was possible to significantly optimize the schemes used to open up the ore body, to reduce the costs on mining and operation of waste management facilities.
“Today we implement innovations that will allow us to speak of a new model of mining in near future. Online access to the remote equipment, immediate processing of information and other new functions will allow us to take well-timed decisions and to exclude emergency situations. Our goal is to digitalize all the stages of the in-situ leaching mining cycle and transfer the control to a smart IT system”, said Roman Rudin, representative of IT Directorate of Atomredmetzoloto, JSC and curator of the project.
Within the framework of the forum’s program the specialists of the company took part in panel discussions, discussed the impact of digitalization on the competiveness increase of companies, development of hi-tech non-nuclear business areas and effect of changes on the development strategies of large companies.
