Infrastructure of Mine No. 6 Getting on Schedule
New ground has been broken at the construction site to further erect mine water waste treatment facilities (MWTFs), while МSU-50 contracting company is expected to complete the foundation of auxiliary buildings and structures and partially configure external engineering networks as soon as by the year end. Vladimir Sergeev, Deputy Director General for Capital Development at E.P. Slavsky PIMCU, PJSC says that they have already made arrangement for contracted supplies of most of MWTF equipment such as pumps, transformers, conditioning apparatuses, etc. and the facility commissioning is scheduled for late 2019.
Contracting companies are completing the camp amenities, including household and production facilities and temporary warehouses, and the mine’s new tote road is planned to be put into operation in October, ahead of schedule.
In addition, work is underway at the construction site to complete the main step-down substation (MSDS), which would supply power for the entire complex of Mine No. 6. As of today, the facility readiness is 95%, including the erected building to accommodate the MSDS separate control station, two transformers, supports of inter-facility overhead power lines, open switchgear, etc.
Let’s recall that the first stage of mine No. 6 is to be put into operation in 2023.
