Mining division of Rosatom was represented by 46 members and experts, employees of Atomredmetzoloto, JSC and affiliates – Khiagda, JSC, Dalur, JSC, PIMCU, PJSC and VNIPIpromtechnologii, JSC. Previously the participants have been selected at the divisional competition ARMZSkills in Krasnokamensk based at the leading enterprise of the uranium holding – Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union.
Out of 27 competencies at the championship ARMZ competed in 9 of them: Electronics, Networking and System Administration, Welding Technologies, Industrial Automatics, Laboratory Chemical Analysis, Dosimetrist, Engineering Design, Special Vehicle Driver, and Labor Safety. Over 5 days the participants have shown high level of mastery, winning the best award at the Engineering Design competency. The gold award was won by the employees of VNIPIpromtechnologii, JSC who participated in the competition for the first time. The team was the best at completing quite a difficult and non-core task – to design a storage facility for liquefied hydrocarbons.
“We did preparations and worked on the task at the same time, learning how to model using software that was new to us and practicing manual calculation methods, which were evaluated at the competition the most, in parallel. It is a great responsibility to represent the division, especially against such experienced competitors as ASE and Mayak. I’m glad that our team was able to do their best,” - says Anton Sashkin, expert and the chief specialist of the general construction department of VNIPIpromtechnologii, JSC.
The prizewinners were officially congratulated by Vladimir Verkhovtsev, Director General of the ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., who noted that “this is the first victory of the mining division at this prestigious competition which creates new traditions of success, helps acquire self-confidence and aim for even better results”. The top manager personally congratulated each member of the winning team.
VNIPIpromtechnologii representative Artem Gabbasov joined the combined team of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation which will take part in the young professional championship WorldSkills Hi-Tech in October 2018.
For reference: the championship is based on the international WorldSkills system and aimed at implementation of worldwide standards into training of nuclear industry personnel and engineers. Today AtomSkill is the biggest professional excellence championship using WorldSkills system in Russia.
