VNIPIpromtechnologii, JSC, Switches to Designing Using BIM Technologies
“Integrated implementation of the designing management system, 3D and information modelling (BIM – Building Information Model) will allow increasing significantly the quality of design documentation and efficiency of works. We will reduce the expenditures at the account of reduction of the duration of processes; and the customer will obtain an optimal solution which will make construction and further maintenance of the buildings and structures cheaper,” Alexey Shemetov, General Director of VNIPIpromtechnologii, JSC, said.
The building of the local sorption unit (LSU) will become the first project implemented using the up-to-date technology for the internal customer. It will be constructed at the Vershinnoe Deposit. The Deposit is being developed by Khiagda, JSC, which is a part of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. control loop. Common drawings recede into the past. Today the 3D model of the terrain and infrastructure has been created using AutoCAD; and the 3D model of the architectural and structural parts of the project, process equipment and engineering systems have been created using Autodesk. The first experience of BIM applying will allow reducing the design time at least by 19% which will undoubtedly draw nearer the term of putting of the facility into operation.
As to the external customers, the Australian mining company for which the Engineering Center develops a leach line will become the first enterprise able to apply the design in the modern format.
Alexey Shemetov has emphasized that the cost of the works for the customers of VNIPIpromtechnologii, JSC, will not increase notwithstanding switching to the digital technologies.
It is worth to note that the digital projects are being broadly implemented at the enterprises of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. One of the most important of them is the Smart Mine Project allowing bringing the processing of geological and geotechnological data to complete automation, and determining the optimal modes of development of the operating blocks.
