Dalur, JSC Continues Exploration of Khokhlovskoye Deposit in Shumikhinsky District of Kurgan Region
“Most strategic metal in the Trans-Ural Area has been currently produced at Dalmatovskoye deposit in Dalmatovsky District. According to our plans, the uranium production center of the area will start relocating to Shumikha by 2021. Khokhlovskoye deposit will work at full capacity. In order to provide the nuclear industry with the required uranium volume supplies, construction of infrastructure facilities is about to start here”, - Dinis Ezhurov, Production Director of Dalur, JSC, reported.
The facility has developed the project and is beginning construction of a railroad base at the skirts of Shumikha, in close proximity to Central reservoir of Khokhlovskoye deposit, which has been currently developed. The facility includes a sulphur acid warehouse with the capacity of up to 200 tons, railroad driveways, internal site motor road, etc. A railroad base at Kurgan-Yekaterinburg railroad is required to make the reservoir acidification chemical supplies logistics less expensive. Transport operations are currently carried out from the railroad base of Dalur, JSC, in Dalmatovo city. A new site is expected to be used soon for the transshipment of chemicals for further transportation to Zverinogolovsky District, where Dalur, JSC, has obtained the right to use the subsurface area of federal significance (Dobrovolnoye deposit) based on Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation No.1131-r.
To ensure uninterrupted provision of Khokhlovskoye deposit facilities with electric power, a substation will be built nearby the Central reservoir. The local sorption unit has been operated at Central reservoir. At this site SNK-3000 columns have been erected and necked down; new high-performance resin oil pumping well has been built and equipped with the air lift pump. To improve performance at the deposit, injecting solutions distribution control and metering devices are equipped with radio modems. This allows controlling and responding in a timely manner to malfunctions of subsurface electric water pumps.
Development of the reservoir of Khokhlovskoye deposit will allow preserving the total volume of uranium production of Dalur, JSC, at the current level.
