2017 ARMZ Uranium Holding Grant Winners for Socially Significant Projects – Year Review in Krasnokamensk
The representatives of socially responsible business working on the territory of the city, public organizations, and residents of Krasnokamensk took part in the reporting event called "Opening new opportunities" that took place in "Argun" sports complex. The meeting started with the film about the results of the most significant projects.
The contest for grants in 2017 was held in the city for the fourth time. Last year, in addition to social entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations and volunteers could take part in it. As a result, 20 projects received financial support from Atomredmetzoloto, JSC for a total of RUB 2.4 million. Among them there were ten projects presented by non-profit organizations and municipal institutions, seven projects of individual entrepreneurs, three volunteer projects.
The most outstanding charitable projects were presented at the meeting. In particular, regional hospital No. 4, thanks to the grant funds, equipped ramps for people with disabilities. The medical facility was equipped with lavatories, as well as parking lots for this category of citizens.
The employees of the Krasnokamensk social and rehabilitation center "Dobrota" shared their experience in the implementation of the "Helping Hand" project. The grant from ARMZ in the amount of RUB 200 thousand was used to purchase wheelchairs, prams, anti-bedsore mattresses, walkers, crutches, etc. In terms of the project, the rental of supplies is free of charge.
"Unfortunately, people hardly know anything about each other, about the existence and activities of social and other institutions. Events like this let us talk about our successes and good deeds, share problems and failures. Many thanks to the organizers of the contest of social projects for their good cause," said Olga Davydova, director of the State Institution of Social Services "Krasnokamensk Social and Rehabilitation Center "Dobrota".
As a result of the implementation of socially significant initiatives, 15 children from families with many children and disadvantaged families receive logopedic services, 10 children underwent additional preschool education, games for recreation of people with impaired vision have been purchased, competitions for orphaned children have been held, conditions for children’ stay in the tuberculosis dispensary have been improved.
Thanks to the grants, two individual entrepreneurs have been engaged in environmental issues in Krasnokamensk, having removed five unauthorized landfill sites, cleared the way to the solid waste landfill, and cleaned up the territory behind the dormitory of the training vocational school.
In the children's tuberculosis sanatorium, due to the grant, equipment was purchased for musical studies - speakers, microphones, color music. The gaming complex "Puppy Patrol" was arranged for the youngest children.
The initiatives also concern optimization of functional zones of medical institutions, tailoring stage costumes for creative teams, improving the territory of the city, etc.
The participants of the meeting also noted that thanks to the ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. program in the Krasnokamensky district new jobs and required services are emerging. "The grant money has been fully spent and has not been wasted. It was specifically allocated to solve the most acute issues in the city, "- said Yuri Didenko, the head of the administration of Krasnokamensk.

"I understand that RUB 2.4 million is not quite a large amount of money, but its application has given very concrete results. It should be noted that the city-forming enterprise of Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union, PJSC, as well as ARMZ Uranium Holding realizes the entire responsibility for the life and development of the second largest city of Trans Baikal. Its population, first of all, consists of our employees and their families. Therefore, the support of social infrastructure is one of the priorities of our activities," said Olga Shcherbakova, HR Director of PIMCU, PJSC.
In 2018 ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. is planning to hold the fifth contest of social projects.
