PIMCU PJSC Summed Up the Results of 9 Months at the Traditional Day of Information Sharing

“So far, we meet the major indicator - adherence to the budget which allows us to maintain a break-even level of performance. I am sure that the annual financial result will also be positive by the end of the year,” said Alexander Glotov, Director General of Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union (PIMCU PJSC, under the management of ARMZ Uranium Holding / Mining Division of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom) on the traditional Day of Information Sharing in Krasnokamensk.

Based on the results of the work for the first and third quarters of 2017, PIMCU hit the targets of uranium production by providing the nuclear industry with 1,232 tons of strategic metal. About 2.3 million tons of coal was shipped to consumers.

The main components of the target positive financial result include the implementation of measures to improve efficiency in the units and a significant increase in revenue from commercial activities. This includes the sale of coal, the successful entry of the Repair and Mechanical Plant into the external market of commodities and services, the sale of pyrite cinder, etc. Alexander Glotov stressed that a significant economic effect had been achieved within the implementation of the activities of the Rosatom Production System. “This performance indicator is primarily due to those employees who made proposals for improvements aimed at eliminating losses, reducing the time of processes, improving the quality of domestic product. In just 9 months, 535 proposals for improvements were submitted, 439 of which have already been implemented,” said the Director General of PIMCU.

Among the most effective measures implemented based on the proposals of employees, Alexander Glotov noted a reduction in the consumption of manganese concentrate at the Hydrometallurgical Plant, a reduction in the response time to identify malfunctions in the Department of Production Support, a reduction in the time of rod drilling at Mine No. 8 and others. He announced the start of a contest for the best RPS project and a streamlining proposal with payment of up to 250 thousand rubles to the winner. “Employees’ assurance that their efforts will be noticed, honored and rewarded, gives a 100% result,” said the Director General of PIMCU. He also recalled that by the end of 2016, 57 people were awarded for proposals with an economic effect for a total amount of more than 2 million rubles.

Special attention was paid to the production safety of Russia’s largest uranium mining enterprise. “Reducing industrial injuries since 2012 to 2017 by 68.4% is a good indicator. Still, our task is to completely eliminate accidents at work,” said Alexander Glotov.

In his report, the Director General of PIMCU elaborated on the activities of the security service of the union to identify cases of theft at work. “The number of theft cases compared to 2016 has reduced by 50%. I believe that this is primarily not due to the measures of the security service, but to a change in the mindset of people, and that in the future such negative facts will be an exception to the rules for our many thousands of employees. Nevertheless, everyone should be aware that all cases of unlawful actions will be identified and guilty persons will get the punishment they deserve,” stressed Alexander Glotov.

At the end of the Day of Information Sharing, the leaders of PIMCU, the administrations of Krasnokamensk and the Krasnokamensky district answered the questions of the audience. In particular, the locals learned about the project to create a recreation area at the water storage reservoir and a program for repairing roads and courtyards.
