As part of the working trip around Trans-Baikal Territory districts, the region governor Natalya Zhdanova opened a motorway road Krasnokamensk-Matsievskaya and held a meeting in PJSC Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union to discuss development

At the opening ceremony of the fully asphalted 78 km highway to Krasnokamensk the Governor of Trans-Baikal Territory has emphasized that it was a significant milestone for the region and has expressed gratitude to all those who participated in the reconstruction: “This road is the artery of life, the artery of economy, that links us to the Territory border districts which are extremely strategically important. I’m sure that the opening of this highway will stimulate economic growth and will improve living conditions in the districts mentioned”.

Andrey Prostakishin, the deputy general director for general issues and development of  PJSC Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union, who attended the ceremony pointed out that the motorway was reconstructed, in particular, using the funds of the Consolidated group of taxpayers of State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom. “It is not only Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union and the city residents who are in need of the new road. First of all, the convenient logistics will promote to attract the investors to construct new enterprises in the Krasnokamensk Priority Social and Economic Development Area (PSEDA),” believes Andrey Prostakishin.

The head of the region, being accompanied by the ministers of the Trans-Baikal Territory Government, left Matsievskaya for the “uranium capital” of Russia where she held a meeting on the development prospects of Krasnokamensk.

Attracting investors to the PSEDA was determined by Natalya Zhdanova as the top priority goal for the Trans-Baikal Territory Government. “All structures concerned, including the regional Ministry of Economic Development, the city administration, corporation for development of the Trans-Baikal Territory, etc., are working hard in this area. The Area has been created for 10 years, and within this period we should make our best efforts to diversify the municipal economy, to establish the alternative and appropriate operating enterprises. Construction of mine No. 6 of Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union is also a critically important project for Krasnokamensk, underlined the Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory.

The General Director of Uranium Holding ARMZ Vladimir Verkhovtsev emphasized: “By joining our efforts we should exercise the human right to work in Krasnokamensk, to ensure creation of jobs at mine No. 6 and to provide investors with the best conditions for construction of new enterprises in the city. Supporting the projects that are being implemented to develop the municipal economy is one of the priority goals for Uranium Holding ARMZ. Conditions for the development of both basic industries and innovative production facilities have been created at the site of PJSC Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union”.

The items regarding further cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Finance of Russia in respect of allocation of budgetary funds in the amount of RUB 2.46 bln to provide funding of the required supporting infrastructure of the project “Development of Argunsky and Zherlovoy uranium deposits” as well as regarding implementation of projects aimed at social and economic development of Krasnokamensk have been included into the graft resolution of the meeting. In particular, the Ministry of Finance of Trans-Baikal Territory was requested to make provisions in the 2018 budget estimates for continuation of works at the facility “Construction of II stage of sewage treatment works”, and the Ministry of Territorial Development was requested to consider an issue of providing subsidies out of the road fund for the repair of prospekt Stroiteley, local public roadways, for the overhaul and repair of yard areas of the blocks of flats.

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files which a website may put on your computer or mobile device when you first visit a site or page. The cookie will help the website, or another website, to recognize your device the next time you visit. Web beacons or other similar files can also do the same thing.
