Mechanic engineers of RMZ PJSC PIMCU have presented an upgraded load-haul-dumper (LHD)

Vladimir Verkhovtsev Director General of Atomredmetzoloto JSC, have inspected the machine. “There have been 108 similar machines issued from PIMCU since 1991 and we do our best to comply with all improvement suggestions received from miners. In this model the cable drum capacity is increased up to 150 m, there is a central lubricating system, LED lights are installed on the roof. Joystick control allows improving convenience and promptness of machine manipulations and thus improving its performance. The upgrade also allowed increasing the operation zone of the machine, decreasing pipeline installation costs by 25%, increasing pumping equipment life,” said Grigory Goryachy, head of project for LHD issue.

Currently RMZ is the only manufacturer of similar class equipment in Russia. “Nowadays when many Russian enterprises, including our PIMCU, due to the increase of currency exchange rates have no possibility to purchase foreign equipment or parts thereto, we have all the chances to enter the Russian market. This is our window of opportunity: we can offer both a good price and a good quality. Taking into account the consumer requests as much as possible, we can sufficiently increase the productive capacity of load-haul-dumpers,” marked Vladimir Verkhovtsev.

New models of load-haul-dumpers have already been designed and wait for their turn for assembly at RMZ assembly line. Each of them is intended for operation in specific mining conditions. In particular, PD-2EE will be equipped with power electrical drive and hydraulic brake, which allows climbing up to 16 degree grades. PD-1E and PD-1D can operate in narrow openings due to minimized dimensions. PD-2EM will be “free from the ties” of the cable with electric power accumulators that increase the machine mobility (this modification is under construction in cooperation with TVEL Rosatom State Corporation holding).

First contracts for upgraded load-haul-dumpers have been concluded with KMAruda JSC and GMK Dalpolimetall JSC.

In June 6–9 PD-2EM will be presented to the consumers at the 24th International Specialized Exhibition “Russian Coal and Mining” in Novokuznetsk.
