Krasnokamensk hosted celebrations dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Hydrometallurgical Plant
The main commemorative event in the assembly hall of the plant started with photo chronicles. Unique historical photographs covered the entire history of the company. Young, happy and smiling factory workers looked on the guests from the photographs which became so vivid for a moment. The pictures showed them taking part in the volunteer clean-up activities, performing at a musical evening, taking part in the May Day demonstration, and receiving well-deserved sports awards.
Congratulating the workers of the Hydrometallurgical Plant on the anniversary, Deputy Director General of PIMCU Boris Prosekin said: "Our plant is not just high-tech equipment, unique process chain and more than 120 thousand tons of output of finished product: most of all it is people. All our production achievements would be impossible without you, your skillful hands and bright minds. It is gratifying that our team has been achieving the set objectives stably and smoothly for decades, in full compliance with the plan and performance indicators. Today the plant is entering a new phase of development. We have reconstruction and deep modernization of our facility ahead of us, and I have no doubt all the tasks will be performed that thanks to you."
Factory workers greeted with applause their colleagues awarded in honor of the anniversary. For example, a mark of labor distinction "Veteran of Nuclear Energy and Industry" was awarded to sulfuric acid plant operator Olga Kaspirovich, Shop No. 2 rare earths separation plant operator Vladimir Vaulin, Shop No. 2 annealing machine operator Ruslan Ten, Shop No. 2 electric and gas welder Andrey Korenev, Shop No. 1 crane operator Lyubov Gavrilova, maintenance shop engineer Viktor Karmishin, Ship No. 4 crusher plant operator Nikolai Nizhegorodtsev. Four employees of the plant received a letter of award from Rosatom, and two received Rosatom’s gratitude. The best employees of the enterprise were also awarded with the Gratitude from the Director General of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., Diplomas of Merit and Letters of Gratitude from the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Zabailkalsky Krai Letters of Award from heads of the city and the region.
A notable gift for plant workers was a concert prepared by young pupils of children’s School of Arts. The plant workers greeted with applause performances by the dance ensemble "Meridian", vocal acts of the Folk Song Band "Russkiye Poteshki."
The company’s veterans were honored separately. Many factory workers had over 40 years of working experience. Even before the Hydrometallurgical Plant was commissioned, they took part in its construction and start-up. "We were working not for the sake of awards and high ranks, and never complained when there was a need to stay at the site for days. When the first batch of uranium oxide concentrate was produced, we all felt some boyish pride of being a part of such an event, and, of course, strived to dedicated our life to the factory", recalled Hydrometallurgical Plant’s Director Viktor Gorbunov during a meeting with veterans of the enterprise.
Veterans of the plant were congratulated by the Deputy Director General of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. Victor Svyatetsky, General Director of PIMCU Sergei Shurigin, chairman of the trade union association Peter Gnatyuk and other officials. They thanked the factory workers for their labor feat, stressing that Hydrometallurgical Plant had many new projects and areas for development ahead.
45 veterans of the plant received well-deserved awards. In particular, Director of the Plant Viktor Gorbunov was awarded with badge "Yefim Pavlovich Slavsky" and author of dozens of rationalization proposals Anatoly Mikheyev was given the sign "For Service to the Nuclear Industry." Words of congratulations sounded in honor of those who participated in the start-up of the plant, and artists of Dauria House of Culture prepared a colorful holiday program.
