Deputies of the Legislative Assembly of Zabaikalsky Krai headed by the Speaker Igor Likhanov spent two days working in Krasnokamensk
During the "Days of Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union", the creation of Priority Socio-Economic Development Area (PSEDA) in the city, as well as budget planning, reconstruction of infrastructure and many others issues were discussed.
"After we went down under the ground, our understanding of the problems of a single-industry town has become much deeper, in direct and figurative sense of the word. We will aggressively promote proposals for the development of Krasnokamensk at all levels", - said Igor Likhanov after visiting PIMCU’s Mine No.8. The deputes of the regional Legislative Assembly also visited PIMCU’s hydrometallurgical, sulfuric acid and repair and engineering plants at Urtuysky coal mine, Krasnokamensk CHP.
Key issues that require support from the deputies have been formulated by PIMCU’s General Director Sergei Shurigin. First and foremost, it is the need for unconditional fulfillment of the social infrastructure development program of Krasnokamensk, funded by the Consolidated Group of Taxpayers of Rosatom. "Relying on this program, or, for example, using the finances from the Development Fund of Single-Industry Towns, we need to urgently address the issue of reconstruction of drinking water intake and water treatment facilities, continue reconstruction of the road infrastructure", - highlighted Sergey Shurigin. He proposed to initiate an adjustment to the regional budget for 2016
One of the steps already taken in this area is the adoption of the Law ratifying the General Cooperation Agreement for the development of the single-industry town, signed between the "Development Fund of Single-Industry Towns" and the Government of Zabaikalsky Krai, as mentioned by the deputy chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Zabaikalsky Krai Nikolai Merzlikin. In particular, the agreement involves co-financing of the cost of construction and reconstruction of infrastructure.
"The plans of the regional government and the Legislative Assembly fully comply with the plans of the town’s backbone enterprise and Krasnokamensk Administration. The future of the town is the creation of PSEDA and bringing in investors. All our resources are now focused on these plans, "- said Nikolai Merzlikin.
At the final meeting of the "Days of Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union", PIMCU’s best workers were awarded with Certificates of Honor and Letters of Gratitude from the Regional Legislative Assembly.
