Gifts with Meaning: A Charity Event
ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. has taken part in an event within the framework of “Naive? Very Much So” program. For three hours on October 6 the ARMZ office hosted an exhibition and fair, entitled “Gifts with Meaning,” where company employees could purchase products made by project participants. The children sponsored by “Naive? Very Much So” project create very impressive artwork. Each of the items is naïve and unique in a way that only children’s art can be. Theirs are amazing art objects that embody children’s simple and light nature. They radiate so much warmth and kindness that you just do not want to part with these things. This is the kindness that you can touch.
This is a unique project for Russia. For the first time ever, severely disabled children can not only showcase their creativity and earn some money, too. Children with mental disabilities who are involved in this project make creative souvenirs with their own drawings (circles, plates, ceramic articles). The project has its own workshop and its own ceramic studio, where special children work. For more details about the project, please visit the project website at www.naivno.ru
Roman Gorshenin, one of the children taking part in the event, participated in the fair. He told company employees in detail about creative ideas behind these products, how their workshops are set up, and proudly showed his own drawings. Elena Vakhrusheva, director of the project said that they were surprised to find that art featuring polar bears was so popular among ARMZ staff members.
After they learned that one of the facilities of ARMZ is located on Novaya Zemlya Archipelago, the project participants offered to use this imagery in corporate New Year presents. Vakhrusheva also noted that the company employees were indeed a cohesive, responsive and family-oriented team.
A total of RUB 64,450 were raised during the event.
