Celebrations marking the Miner's Day, the main holiday of the Russia’s uranium capital Krasnokamensk, were held in the city

A solemn meeting and gala concert were held on Friday night at Dauria Palace of Culture, PJSC PIMCU. The keynote of the festive program was the 70th anniversary of the nuclear industry of Russia and glorification of the miner’s labor.

"The Miner's Day in Krasnokamensk opens the jubilee events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry. And this is no accident; after all, we stand at the beginning of the entire Rosatom production chain. We are moving the right way by reducing production costs. Despite all the difficulties, PIMCU is the Russia’s number one uranium production company and successfully achieves all its objectives", - said in his congratulatory speech General Director of ARMZ Uranium Holding Vladimir Verkhovtsev. He also stressed that the basis for further development of PIMCU and the future of the city is the construction of Mine No.6: “The future of the uranium chain lies in the sixth mine, and we will do everything to put it into operation."

General Director of PIMCU Sergei Shurigin and chairman of the trade union Peter Gnatiuk congratulated employees on their professional holiday and the anniversary of the industry.

Management of ARMZ and PIMCU handed out just rewards to the employees who attained special success in their work. 7 employees received Certificates of Honour from Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, 7 employees were awarded with a mark of distinction "For Service to the Nuclear Industry" of the 3rd and 2nd degrees. Four employees of the enterprise received letters of gratitude from ARMZ Uranium holding.

This year's gala event was attended by guests of honor - a member of the Federation Council of RF Federal Assembly Stepan Zhiryakov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Zabaykalsky Krai Natalya Zhdanova, Minister of Natural Resources and Industrial Policy of Zabaykalsky Krai Oleg Poliakov and deputies of the Legislative Assembly of Zabaykalsky Krai.
"Mining companies of the former 1st Main Directorate of USSR Ministry of Medium Machine-Building Industry have special place in the history of Zabaykalsky Krai. Our region is mindful of you, proud of you, hoping for you," – said Stepan Zhiryakov in his congratulatory speech, giving welcome address on behalf of the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and the Environmental Committee of the Council of the Federation.

High professionalism and competence of PIMCU employees were marked by Natalya Zhdanova in her speech, "PIMCU is the flagship of the uranium mining industry in our country, an industry driver of Zabaykalsky Krai. It is a modern enterprise which is achieving significant results. We, being the legislators, see our crucial mission to support the flagship of the economy of our region at the legislative level. "

Representatives of the capital of Zabaykalsky Krai handed out high awards to the residents of Krasnokamensk: Certificates of Honour of the Federation Council of RF Federal Assembly, letters of gratitude from the Governor of Zabaykalsky Krai, and Chairman of the Legislative Assembly. In particular, the letter of gratitude from the Chairman of the regional Legislative Assembly was given to General Director of PIMCU Sergei Shurigin; an electrician of the hydrometallurgical plant Sergey Polovinko was awarded with the medal "20 Years of the Council of Federation".

The heroes of the day were congratulated by acting head of the urban settlement "City of Krasnokamensk" Olga Kanunnikova, chairman of the municipal district "City of Krasnokamensk and Krasnokamensk District" Alexey Zammoev, chairman of the Council of urban settlement "City of Krasnokamensk" Yuri Didenko. In celebration of the Miner's Day, they gave certificates of honor and valuable gifts to the merited workers of the enterprise.

The ceremony was culminated by presentation of the mark of distinction "Miner's Glory" of the 1st degree as the superior merit award, marking the honored miners' labor. Full Cavalier of the mark were: Sergey Mikhailovich Gavrilenko, mine foreman, Mine No.1; Rinat Albertovich Ganeev, mine dispatcher, Mine No. 1; Stepan Ivanovich Levchenko, underground cager, Mine No. 8; Andrey Anatolyevich Mitsenko, underground cager, Mine No. 1; Igor Innokentievich Solomin, excavator driver, Urtuyskoe Mine Office; Ivan Semenovich Bilkov - underground timber-man, Mine No. 1; Sergey Vasilievich Chemyakin, chargeman, Mine No. 1.

Awarding was alternated by theatricals, choreography and musical performances by a number of creative teams of Dauria Palace of Culture, specially prepared for the occasion. The artists demonstrated in their acts the history of PIMCU, praised the miners and their hard work. This evening the stage belonged entirely to the young generation and that was the main intrigue of the whole event.

"When discussing the concert program, we unanimously decided that the last word will belong to the young generation of Krasnokamensk. We would like them congratulate the miners and express their gratitude to veterans. Young, energetic, talented guys from all creative studios of the Palace of Culture enthusiastically took up the task. Thus the most emotional acts of the gala night were born. The mining work through children's eyes, in my opinion, is the most sincere and inspired vision of the basics of this tough job,"- said the director of the Dauria Palace of Culture Natalia Slonich.

The traditional parade of labor groups of PIMCU, enterprises and organizations of the city was held on Saturday in Krasnokamensk. According to preliminary estimates, more than five thousand townspeople took part in the solemn march on August 29th. The parade was inspected by General Director of PIMCU Sergei Shurigin, heads of city and the district.

All teams approached creatively to the design of their columns. Multi-colored balloons, from small to large, ribbons, paper flowers and flags filled the main avenue of the city. The passage of virtually every unit was accompanied by salute volleys and fireworks - more than a dozen of them were set off this sunny morning. Hundreds of balloons soared in the sky, and congratulations on the main holiday of the town sounded all over the city from the speakers.

Each unit demonstrated its uniqueness, uncovered the secrets of the enterprise’s industrial processes. Townspeople saw specialized equipment of rescuers, laboratory flasks and mining machinery. Performances of young talents of the city, pupils of Children's School of Arts and other educational institutions, as well as a parade of brides and baby transport parade, organized for the first time in Krasnokamensk by "Mother and Baby" Club were the decoration of the festive procession.
The holiday program lasted until the evening on the square in front of Dauria Palace of Culture, and ended with fireworks.
