Scientific Workshop "Underground Mining Equipment Operation, Maintenance and Repair. Modern Methods and Technology" has started at PJSC PIMCU
The workshop has been organized by ARMZ Uranium Holding and supported by ABB, an international company specializing in electrical engineering, power engineering and IT. The workshop has been attended by representatives of major Russian mining companies.
The workshop participants were welcomed by Deputy General Director, Chief Engineer of PIMCU Boris Prosekin, who congratulated the audience on the upcoming Miner’s Day and wished productive and interesting work. Asset Management Director of ARMZ Uranium Holding Alexander Nevsky noted that the main purpose of the event was the exchange of experience in operation, repair and maintenance of underground mining equipment. "Today the cost of imported equipment becomes just unaffordable for many businesses. We are also faced with quite high prices for spare parts and accessories in repair and maintenance of the existing foreign mining equipment. The one and only solution is to implement import substitution programs. Here, perhaps, each workshop participant has its own approaches and proposals," - shared Alexey Nevsky.
On the first day of the workshop, presentations were made by representatives of Russian Copper Company JSC, MMC Norilsk Nickel and ABB. "The main topic of the workshop is very interesting for our company. We have been working in this market for over 35 years, developing reliability management solutions. At the end of the last year, our system was put into operation at PIMCU mines. Its main task is to improve the quality of planning, procurement and HR management," - said Vice-President for Mineral Complex of ABB Nikolay Godunov.
PIMCU presented to workshop participants the products manufactured by its subsidiary, PIMCU Repair and Engineering Works. "We hope that many types of equipment manufactured by REW will capture the attention of companies engaged in underground mining. Indeed, the plant has vast production capacities. In addition, the equipment, such as mine cages, exceed in quality similar products from other suppliers. Our LHD machines have no rivals as well," - added Alexander Nevsky.
Salyakh Soskov, lead specialist of PIMCU’s Rosatom Production System Implementation Department told the audience about optimization of maintenance and repair of load-haul trucks and mine locomotives. The workshop program also included thematic round tables to discuss mining equipment operation issues, case studies, as well as visits to production sites of PIMCU, in particular, underground mines where PD-2E machines are operated, and to Repair and Engineering Works facility itself.
