Prospective projects discussed at Atomexpo 2015 Forum
On June 1, within the framework of the VII Annual International Forum Atomexpo-2015, a working meeting between the head of ARMZ Uranium Holding Vladimir Verkhovtsev and General Director of GR Project Management Co. Man Sytsi was held, during which the partners discussed implementation of joint projects.
Previously, we reported that ARMZ plans to build in Zabaikalsky Krai two major industrial enterprises jointly with the Chinese partners – a cement plant and plant converting coal into diesel fuel.
Last week, the Investment Committee of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation made a positive decision on funding construction of the cement plant. The total investment will amount to around 4 billion rubles. Currently, design and estimate documentation is being developed, the construction work is planned to commence next year.
Within the framework of "coal-diesel" project, the partners discussed the resource base of the deposits intended for development. New coal deposit Pogranichnoye was added to those considered earlier - Urtuyskoe and Kharanor. The next phase of the project should be the signing of an agreement on the development of preliminary feasibility study.
Another promising area of cooperation – a joint venture for the construction of timber factory was also discussed. On May 29, the Minister Plenipotentiary, Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Russia Mr. Zhang Di expressed his interest in the project.
All three projects are promising for social and economic development of single-industry town of Krasnokamensk. First of all, it will result in additional investments and creation of new jobs, including those for highly qualified specialists.
The preferences for investors include five-year tax holidays, introduction of which is expected after inclusion of Krasnokamensk into the list of priority social and economic development areas, extensive infrastructure with the ability to connect to water and heat networks, "moderate" electricity tariffs. PJSC PIMCU will serve as a host enterprise for implementation of the investment projects.
