Krasnokamensk celebrated the anniversary of the Victory!

Together with all of our vast country, Krasnokamensk has celebrated one of the major holidays of Russia – the Day of Victory. An important contribution to preparation and organization of the festive events was made by the backbone enterprise of the city, Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union (PIMCU PJSC, a part of the control loop of ARMZ Uranium Holding/ Atomredmetzoloto JSC).

The festivities in the city began on May 7 with a special concert for veterans at PIMCU’s Palace of Culture Dauria. On the next day, a literary-musical performance “Bless the bright moment!” was held for town residents at the Palace of Culture. This evening, not just good poems and songs of the war years flowed from the stage. Soulful voices of young members of theater studios of PC Dauria, emotional choreographic performances of dance studios literally filled every inch of the stage. The audience rose from their seats to sing the final song of the evening, “Victory Day” along with the performers. Endless ovations sounded like words of appreciation for the artists for experienced moments.

The foyer of the Palace of Culture housed an exhibition of photos and artwork of Krasnokamensk residents, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory. Literary competition “We are the heirs of the Great Victory”, photo contest “70 years have passed since that war” and drawing competition “There was a great war” were organized by PIMCU. In total, 750 residents of all ages took part in the contests. Prizes and awards were presented by Deputy Director General, Chief Engineer of PIMCU Boris Prosekin and Deputy Director General, General Affairs and Transport of PIMCU Andrei Epikhin.

On the day of the holiday, May 9, it seemed that the very nature rejoiced together with Krasnokamensk residents who gathered for the Victory Parade – there was a fine warm weather, the Daurian sun shone brightly. Teams from various organizations and enterprises of the city took part in the parade dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.

Festively decorated columns walked along the Stroiteley Avenue in a solemn march. A copy of the Victory Banner and the Russian flag were waving in front of the parade in the hands of the future defenders of the Motherland. Young members of military-patriotic club Zarnitsa were followed by members of the primary trade union organization of PIMCU, veterans of All-Russian public organization “Military Brotherhood” and the Federal Penitentiary Service officers. Then the students of sports schools and children's art school, pupils of preschool institutions and schoolteachers, employees of organizations and enterprises marched one after another.

Numerous ranks of Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union included teams from various departments of the company. Festively decorated columns were headed by a symbol of the Victory – anti-aircraft missile system, the famous “Katyusha”, and the warrior-liberator with a girl in his arms; a musical composition “Cranes” was played at the background.

Krasnokamensk also joined the All-Russian public march “Immortal Regiment”. More than a thousand of residents of the town solemnly marched to the sound of metronome, holding the portraits of their relatives – participants of the Great Patriotic War. Children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren of the winners by taking part in the commemorative event demonstrated the unity and patriotism, pride for their parents and grandparents who have won freedom.

After the procession, town citizens participated in a rally which traditionally takes place near the monument “To Transbaikal Soldiers”. Young members of the military club Zarnitsa were on duty as the honor guard of the Eternal Flame, holding a copy of the Victory Banner and the Russian tricolor.

Congratulating the residents of the town on a great holiday, the military commissioner of the city and district Igor Berenstein, head of the municipal district German Kolov, Mayor Boris Pichkurenko, First Deputy General Director of PIMCU Dmitry Teplinsky noted the special significance of the Victory today, when some Western politicians are trying to rewrite the history of the Great Patriotic War to their favor.

The memory of those killed in the bloody war was honored by a moment of silence at a restless sound of metronome and three-gun salvo. At the end of the solemn meeting, flowers were placed at the memorial plate.

The festivities continued on the steps of the Palace of Culture Dauria, where spectacular concert “Victory in everyone's heart” was held for veterans and all townspeople. Creative teams of Krasnokamensk, the Palace of Culture Dauria, Regional House of Culture Stroitel, children's art school performed in the open air. Speakers praised the feat of soldiers, dedication of their wives, mothers, children, who were making the long-awaited victory closer through their immense efforts.

Many cultural and sports events took place on the Victory Day in Krasnokamensk, including the traditional relay race, performance by members of the Equestrian Club “Children of Winds”, the “Minute of Silence”, evening program “The Victory is still young”. The celebration ended with a grand Victory salute.
