First stage of implementation of quality and environmental management systems complying with requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 completed at JSC Khiagda
The company has passed a certification audit for compliance with the requirements of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
The audit, conducted by experts from LLC Rostechcert, resulted in issuing a conclusion on compliance of JSC Khiagda’s quality and environmental management systems with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004. The Quality Austria/IQNet certification board awarded to the company a certificate of conformity.
“The quality management system enables us to implement efficient managerial tools designed to reduce contingent expenses, enhance labour productivity and increase production capacities due to the optimization of internal business processes. Conformity of the uranium mining technology to environmental standards is no less important for us,” says Artyom Mikhailov, Deputy Director General for General Affairs, Logistics and Transport of JSC Khiagda.
In the course of preparatory works before the certification, necessary documents were developed at the enterprise. Ten employees from JSC Khiagda obtained internal auditor’s licenses and passed training. Seven internal audits for the compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 were conducted across all structural subdivisions of the company.
Plans for 2015 involve carrying out employee training on all main procedures of the Integrated Management System (work with non-conformities, documentation handling and identification of environmental aspects) and successfully passing a surveillance audit for the IMS compliance with the certificates obtained.
