PIMCU is developing production facilities
The mine No. 8 of Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union started trial operation of mining engineering and support system Mine Frame.
The system was developed by experts of the Kola Scientific Center, Russian Academy of Sciences. It presents three-dimensional model map of the entire ore field and allows to monitor mining operations progress on-line. Training and methodological support is provided by experts of VNIPIpromtechnologii, the engineering center of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co.
The system allows to simplify and accelerate ore quality control in stopes. Surveying services and most of engineering analysis are automated; the quality of planning and design of mining operations improved. Data are collected on a single server. Flexibility and transparency of the system allows for more rapid decisions in analysis and forecast of deposit development, in geological modeling and mining operations planning and, importantly, in environmental monitoring of the area.
"The system meets all engineering requirements, given the complexity of our deposit and challenging mode of occurrence of ore bodies. Previously, delays in processing the results of work of radiometrists and surveyors could be from 5 to 15 days, and now the data are reflected immediately in the three-dimensional mine model. Stope design, which previously took 2-3 months, is performed within just a week with the help of Mine Frame"- explains Yevgeny Ilyin, head of the group "Geographic Information Technologies and Systems" of VNIPIpromtechnologii.
The system is to be expanded in 2015 to include workplaces of underground uranium mine No. 1.
