Official delegation of Kurgan Region Government visits JSC Dalur during working trip to Dalmatovskiy District
“We have recently signed an Agreement on Social and Economic Partnership with JSC Dalur. It is better to discuss locally prospects of uranium mining, the enterprise’s further development and potential assistance from the Government,” explained Viktor Sukhnev, head of the delegation, Deputy Governor of the Kurgan Region, Director of the Department for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, talking about the purpose of the visit.
JSC Dalur managers told members of the delegation about the uranium mining process and the enterprise’s growth outlook. “Currently, we are continuing industrial development of the Dalmatovskoye Deposit, as well as pilot operations at the Khokhlovskoye Deposit. In 2016, field trials are scheduled to commence at the Dobrovolnoye Deposit, while launch of its industrial development is planned starting from 2023. In 2014, it is expected to mine no less than 60 tons of uranium at the Khokhlovskoye Deposit, and onwards the enterprise will achieve annual output of 600 tons of uranium,” highlighted Nikolay Lutsenko, Acting Director for Operations of JSC Dalur.
A rare-earth metal recovery unit, operating under the test mode, aroused the greatest interest. So far, the first phase of experimental works on associated recovery of scandium and rare-earth metals from sorption mother waters completed. In view of good results received, JSC Dalur plans to organize associated recovery of scandium and rare-earth metals in the course of natural uranium mining.
On behalf of the delegation, Alexander Stolbov, Head of the Dalmatovskiy District, expressed satisfaction with the current status and developmental prospects of the enterprise and noted a high technological level of the workflow organization.
