As part of events within the framework of Year of Culture, core production site of JSC Khiagda hosts Evenki traditional folk art performance
Two creative groups from the Bauntovsky District – Folk Singing and Dancing Ensemble “Osikta” (“Small Star”) and Dancing Group “Fortuna” (“Fortune”) – performed on stage at the workers' camp. Singer Zolto Dorzhiev and ensemble “Ivushki” (“Little Willow Trees”) also took part in the concert.
The evening programme featured a variety of dance and vocal compositions, such as “Kumalany” (“Evenki National Carpets”), “Hani Rani”, “Podsnezhniki” (“Snowdrops”), “Kukty” (“The Cuckoo Bird”), “Zvuki Taigi” (“Sounds of Taiga”) and others. The improvised concert hall at the workers' camp was full of people. The event was initiated by Youth Movement “Khiagdintsy” (“Residents of Khiagda”). “We believe that we should know traditions of the people, upon whose land we work. As far as the concert is concerned, we were struck not only by the performance itself, but also by finesse of clothing. We really enjoyed this aesthetic experience and a wealth of positive emotions it gave us,” noted Elena Nazarova, the movement’s leader.
Noteworthy is the fact that JSC Khiagda has worked out and launched a programme for the development of social sphere and leisure activities at the workers’ camp, which involves organizing sports and cultural events, implementing the voluntary health insurance programme and ensuring comfortable living conditions for local residents.
