New Canteen for JSC Khiagda employees
On November 25th, an in-house catering facility was opened on the territory of JSC Khiagda shift camp.
Until recently, the workers used to drive to the old camp to have meals at its canteen accommodated in a small wooden house. Due to the low throughput capacity, meals were served to JSC Khiagda staff on a shift basis.
The new canteen is capable of servicing more than 100 people at a time. It is operated by the Krasnoyarsk-based catering company Roteks, which also provides services to some other subsidiaries of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., including JSC PIMCU. The JSC Khiagda management agreed with the contractor on organizing “Theme-Specific Food Days”. During these days the employees will have a chance to try dishes from a range of national cuisines. A special festive menu is available as well.
“Though the facility is still under construction, providing comfortable working and living conditions for our employees is one of our top priorities,” says Sergey Radkov, JSC Khiagda Director General. “Today, we have solved the problem of supplying high-quality and fresh meals to our staff. However, a number of tasks still lay ahead, whose implementation will turn JSC Khiagda into one the foremost companies in Buryatia both in terms of technology and social conditions.”
Opening of the new canteen is another step taken under the JSC Khiagda Social Programme. In mid-November, a dry cleaner and laundry were commissioned at the facility, and on November 24th, a mobile dental office started receiving its first patients.
JSC Khiagda operated by ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. is located in Bauntovsky District, the Republic of Buryatia. Uranium production in 2011 amounted to 266.4 tons. Upon completion of the design capacity by 2019, the facility’s output will increase to 1800 tons of uranium per year.
