Shortly before the Miner’s Day, a delegation of JSC PIMCU visited Moscow. On August 20, workers of the mining industry, awarded with full-fledged Miner’s Glory badge, took part in the meeting of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin with representatives of Russian coal mining and metallurgical companies, scientists and industry veterans.
On the next day, uranium miners met with Alexander Lokshin, First Deputy Director General and Head of the Directorate for Nuclear Power Complex of State Corporation Rosatom. Mr. Lokshin congratulated them on the forthcoming celebration and handed over industry awards—Badges of Merit for the Nuclear Industry of the 3rd Class—as well as special gifts.
At the meeting, Alexander Lokshin and Tigran Khachaturov, the acting Director General of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., told about the development prospects of JSC PIMCU and Krasnokamensk as well as the activities aimed at improving miners’ welfare and increasing their social protection.
Also, on behalf of the entire staff of JSC PIMCU, its delegation laid a wreath at the tomb of Stal Pokrovsky, the Union’s first director.
The Miner’s Day is traditionally celebrated on the last Sunday in August. In Krasnokamensk this date coincides with celebration of the town’s anniversary. This year, the festive events will start on Friday, August 24.
