«ARMZ» Uranium Holding Named «Mining Company Of the Year» by «MINEX» Forum
«ARMZ» Uranium Holding (JSC «Atomredmetzoloto») is pleased to announce that the company has received the «Mining Company of the Year» award at the 4th annual mining and exploration forum «MINEX» that took place in Moscow.
The award was established in 2007 and is given by the Award Committee based on the forum participants’ votes and mining industry representatives poll to Russian and international companies for their outstanding achievements in improving mining industry practices in Russia.
«MINEX» is an annual forum established in 2005 to assist Russia with the development of competitive mining and exploration industry through international professional networking of industry professionals, regulators, consultants and investors.
«This award, the largest independent award in Russian mining industry, is in recognition of the hard work of our entire team,» said Pavel Zhuravlev, Deputy Director of «Atomredmetzoloto» who represented the company at the ceremony. «This honor is an incentive for us to keep up good work in further developing the Russian economy and raising the profile of Russian companies worldwide».

ARMZ Uranium Holding (JSC «Atomredmetzoloto», www.armz.ru) is the authorized company of «Rosatom», the state nuclear energy corporation which produces raw materials for the Russian nuclear industry.
In 2007 ARMZ was number five on the list of world’s top uranium miners (3.5 tons mined) and the runner-up in terms of uranium reserves (538 thousand tons). 100 percent of shares of ARMZ belong to «Atomenergoprom», a state-owned holding consolidating all non-military assets of «Rosatom».
ARMZ’s strategic goal is to become the leader of the world’s uranium mining industry and increase uranium production to 20 thousand tons by 2024.
ARMZ Uranium mining holding currently unites four enterprises in Russia (JSC «Priargun Production company», OJSC «PPGHO», CJSC «Dalur», OJSC «Hiagda») and a Russian-Kazakh JV «Zarechnoe» in Kazakhstan. ARMZ plans to increase its output by building new production facilities in Russia (CJSC «Elkon», CJSC «Olovskaya mining company», CJSC «Uranium mining company «Gornoe», CJSC «Lunnoye»), and abroad (JV «Akbastau»). ARMZ, together with other leading uranium miners, participates in projects in Ukraine, Armenia, Canada, Namibia and Mongolia.
