The Mining Division Team Won the Gold at the Industry Championship of Professional Skills Atomskills-2019

Elena Elina (RUSBURMASH, JSC) and the expert Vladimir Nadelyaev (Khiagda, JSC) brought the victory in the Environment competence. Atomskills is held for the fourth time according to the Worldskills methodology; it is aimed at developing professional competencies, increasing the prestige of highly qualified personnel for the commercial success of enterprises and career growth of employees. This year the championship gathered a record number of participants — 3,000. There are 31 competencies announced, including 4 new ones included in the championship program for the first time.
ARMZ team took part in 11 competencies: special vehicle driver, engineering design, network and system administration, welding technologies, analytical control, dosimetrist, electronics, occupational safety, environment, industrial automation, budgeting. 27 participants and 30 experts strove for victory; this is almost 6 times more than in the first competition four years ago.
«The labor professions are the backbone, our specialists perform complex and responsible work every day — they produce uranium, deliver special cargo, ensure production and environmental safety. The championship is a high-quality platform for professional growth and advanced training, for the development of our core competencies in line with global standards, and most importantly, tomorrow the participants will share this experience at enterprises, setting an example for their colleagues,» said Vladimir Verkhovtsev, Director General of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co.
At the traditional meeting with the participants, Vladimir Verkhovtsev thanked the team, discussed the sore points and outlined an action plan for the future, noting that «We should already begin preparations for the next championship. All necessary for this will be done». In turn, the participants noted that the level of the championship is higher every year, the tasks become more complicated and require an out-of-the-box approach beyond the usual duties, and the competition is more intense.
The championship business program opened with the Atomtalks industry conference, where the managers from the State Corporation TOP 30 discussed the possibilities for creating an environment for the industry specialist talent development. Tatyana Terentyeva, HR Director, ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation, shared the success stories of the nuclear industry leaders, explaining how industry programs help to unleash the employee’s potential. The top manager formulated the basic principles of the human centric approach that contribute to the creation of such environment — active independence, value diversity, competence mobility, etc.
The result was summarized by the head of ROSATOM, Alexey Likhachev: «We are approached by the President and the Government of the Russian Federation with a request to take responsibility for the development of high technology and necessary competences in order to become global leaders in various areas. This is a challenge to all generations of nuclear workers, because only together we can make the leap».
The vivid and bright point of the Championship was the final ceremony on the stage of Yekaterinburg EXPO. The best of the best were awarded medals by industry managers. Creative congratulations from talented youth, photos with the head of ROSATOM, and of course the «Davai, Rossiya» anthem performed by the band Chelsea charged everyone with positive emotions and a powerful energy boost.
