VII ARMZ Spartakiad Held in Moscow

Traditional sports festival of the ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation Mining Division enterprises — VII ARMZ Spartakiad — took place in Moscow. The teams of E.P. Slavsky PIMCU, PJSC, Khiagda, JSC, Dalur, JSC, VNIPIpromtechnologii, JSC, RUSBURMASH, JSC, ARMZ Service, LLC, Atomredmetzoloto, JSC contended in strength and dexterity. In total, about 450 people from all cities of ARMZ operation participated in the Spartakiad. Competitions were held in traditional sports: volleyball, soccer, chess, darts, table tennis, tug of war, kettlebell lifting. A creative competition was taken into account in the overall standing for the first time. The participants presented their companies in an original way and received additional points for this. The Khiagda team was recognized as the most creative. «I wish you a fair competition and refereeing. Let the strongest win,» Vladimir Verkhovtsev, Director General, ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., welcomed the participants.

One of the most spectacular and emotional sports — soccer — in spite of wet weather, gathered both professional players and amateurs. With the loud fan support, the VNIPIpromtechnologii Scientific Institute, which surpassed the competitors from Khiagda and Dalur in the finals, won the competition.

The real battles took place on the volleyball court: the PIMCU team was the strongest and had the best teamwork. Yuri Mashkov also won the gold medal for the flagship of domestic uranium production by lifting a 16 kg kettlebell 280 times. Moreover, he set a record in men kettlebell lifting for the entire history of the Spartakiad. Among the chess players there were no equal to the players from Khiagda. Among men and women, the best were the representatives of this enterprise: Daria Dyshlyuk and Maxim Gorash. Traditionally, the first place in the individual all-around event in archery was taken by Tatyana Lushina from ARMZ.

Activities for children, buffet lines, first aid workshops: the festival program was eventful; everyone could find something to their liking.

As part of the divisional festival, a number of events took place uniting different interests of the ARMZ employees: awarding the winners of the poetry contest «The atom helps us to build and live» and a meeting between the holding management and the Division Youth Council representatives, where promising projects for implementation by the Change Support Teams were discussed.

The final chord was the solemn awarding of the Spartakiad winners. The status of an absolute champion was regained by the team of E.P. Slavsky PIMCU, PJSC; they received the winning cup from the hands of Vladimir Verkhovtsev. Silver medal was won by the team of Khiagda, JSC; the bronze one went to VNIPIpromtechnologii, JSC.
