VNIPIpromtechnologii Performed Design Works for Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combine

Experts of the Engineering Center completed the schedule for mining gold-bearing ore reserves of the Muruntau-Myutenbay deposit until 2030, taking into account the indicated capacity. The technical solutions developed make it possible to process ore with lower metal contents.
«An important goal of our work was to optimize the cost of transporting rock mass from the quarry, provided that capacity was increased to 50 million tons per year. We proposed to increase the transportation of rock mass with facilities based on a cyclic-flow technology. It provides for significant savings with a quarry size of 4.5 × 3 km and a mining depth of 1 km. The Muruntau quarry development project, in particular, takes into account the relocation of conveyors over the next 10 years considering the maximum workload of the facilities,» said Alexey Shemetov, Director General, VNIPIpromtechnologii, JSC.
It should be noted that it was VNIPIpromtechnologii that designed the facilities of the Navoi MMC in the 1960s. Since then, the Institute has maintained mutually beneficial relations with one of the world’s largest gold producers.
