Krasnokamensk Summed Up 4th Socially Oriented Projects Grant Competition

29 winners — individual entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations and volunteers — will receive financial support in the amount of RUB 2.2 million.
The annual competition is held by ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., the authorities of Krasnokamensk and the City Small and Medium Enterprise Support Fund. Financial support for the best socially oriented projects has been provided since 2014. In just six years, over RUB 13 million have been allocated for the implementation of 66 initiatives. Due to the ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. program, new jobs are being created, environmental and landscaping issues are being addressed, and socially disadvantaged residents are being supported in Krasnokamensk. «In total, 37 applications were submitted. All initiatives were reviewed. I would like to note the activity of the participants, the growth of their professionalism,» said Olga Kanunnikova, Deputy Head of Krasnokamensk.
Among the winners there is a project of purchasing computers for children in the regional tuberculosis treatment sanatorium (the author is an individual entrepreneur Alexander Cherkoon). The Belaya Romashka Charitable Foundation will be able to implement an initiative to provide free halotherapy (salt therapy room) for children of the Krasnokamensky district. The local branch of the National Society of Disabled People will be able to purchase special wheelchairs. A mobile first aid room will be arranged in the Zarnitsa military-patriotic club. «It is great that this year, not only entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations, but also volunteers entered the competition with their projects. This means that we are helping to shape this important movement in the „uranium capital“ of Russia,» said Victoria Dolina, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. The competition committee approved the social projects of 18 volunteers. For example, sports equipment will be purchased for orphans as part of the Territory of Accessible Sport project (author: Elena Denisova). Anton Studenkov will spend the grant on holding a volleyball tournament among the youth teams of Krasnokamensk. Alexander Bukharov and Lyubov Mamonova will spend the grant money for the gymnasium No. 9 territory landscaping. Elvira Gamova will implement the Swim and Heal project and acquire swimming equipment for the musculoskeletal system disease prevention.
"It should be noted that in the recent years the social climate in Krasnokamensk has improved. People are optimistic about the future. And this is not only due to the implementation of social projects, but also to the active construction of Mine No. 6 as the future of Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union, the emergence of new businesses in the territory of priority social and economic development, "said Olga Kanunnikova, Deputy Head of Krasnokamensk.
