ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. and Rostelecom to Jointly Develop Digital Technologies

Rostelecom and ARMZ Uranium Holding Co./Mining Division of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation have signed a cooperation agreement on introduction of digital technologies for strategic metal mining management. The document provides for further joint work of enterprises to develop digital solutions in the field of information technology. It includes, for example, the application of best practices in building communication networks and the industrial Internet, as well as joint testing of new solutions.
The agreement signing place was the Buryat branch office of Rostelecom, PJSC in Ulan-Ude.
«It is symbolic, because it was in the Bauntovsky-Evenki District of the Republic of Buryatia that we started implementing pilot projects for the digital infrastructure development. Here we jointly laid over 200 km long fiber optic line. This gave an impetus to the implementation of the Smart Helmets, Smart Mine and other projects. Digitalization makes it possible to significantly optimize the ore body opening schemes, reduce the mining and site operating costs, and monitor the industrial safety regulation observance,» said Victor Svyatetskiy, First Deputy Director General and Executive Director, ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. According to the Rostelecom top managers, the company pays special attention to the digital infrastructure development at large industrial enterprises.
«This applies to intelligent solutions in IT infrastructure, in data storage and processing, in practices of implementing communication networks and optimizing work processes,» said Vyacheslav Kuts, Deputy Director, Siberia Macroregional Division, and Director for Corporate and Government Segments at Rostelecom, PJSC. «Besides, this agreement will allow the parties to take another step towards the implementation of up-to-date digital solutions of domestic software developed as part of import substitution».
«Our cooperation with ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. enterprises in the digital service development has been going on for over four years. During this time, together we were able to solve a pressing social issue: high-speed Internet and digital television appeared in the villages of the Yeravninsky and Bauntovsky-Evenki Districts. We also developed a smart IT solution, which can be further elaborated taking into account each enterprise specifics and replicated at production facilities,» said Andrey Zdarov, Director, Buryat Branch of Rostelecom. Nowadays, software complexes help Khiagda, JSC, which is developing Khiagda ore field deposits in the Bauntovsky-Evenki District of Buryatia, to reliably assess the mining and geological situation, conduct an accurate analysis of the work performed, and promptly make decisions in the deposit development analyzing and forecasting, geological modeling and planning.
«Today we are implementing innovations that in the near future will allow us to talk about a new model of mining production. Online access to remote equipment, instant information processing and other new features will allow us to make decisions quickly and eliminate abnormal situations. Our task is to ‘digitize’ all stages of in-situ leaching cycle and transfer the control to intelligent IT system,» emphasized Andrey Gladyshev, Director General, Khiagda, JSC.
Projects implemented at the Mining Division enterprises by the IT Directorate of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. together with Rostelecom, PJSC are included in the Unified Digital Strategy of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation. They also comply with the provisions of the Russian Federation digital economy development cooperation memorandum.
