PIMCU Developed New Equipment Ensuring Miners Safety
Industrial testing of pneumatic roof-scaling crowbar began at the underground Mine No. 1. The equipment facilitates work on the roof-rock scaling: chipping off loose rock pieces on the face roofs. The face (workplace) inspection and roof scaling are the first operations before the start of each team working day and are periodically repeated throughout the shift.
The pneumatic roof-scaling crowbar was developed and manufactured at the PIMCU Repair and Mechanical Plant. The technical documentation was developed by the Head of the Center for Research and Development Innovations Alina Volokhina. All work was supervised by the Chief Engineer of the Production Support Directorate Zuffar Akchurin. «The equipment improves safety and facilitates the work,» says mining face foreman Sergey Vishnevsky, who personally tested the new pneumatic crowbar. It is planned to launch the new equipment into full-scale production.
