Khiagda Helps People from Bauntovsky-Evenki District Affected by COVID-19

With the support of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. (Mining Division of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation), enterprise employees organized and conducted a charity event to help the victims.
The situation with the spread of coronavirus infection remains quite tense. Some enterprises have suspended their activities, while others are working against all odds. «For instance, Khiagda, JSC continues to fulfill the tasks set by the government: timely ship finished products, fulfill the production plan 100%. Due to this fact, the Company’s employees did not feel the financial crisis caused by COVID-19. Jobs have been saved, wages are paid in full,» said Andrey Gladyshev, Director General, Khiagda, JSC.
Unfortunately, not all enterprises were able to withstand the pandemic period and continue to provide their employees with jobs and necessary payments like Khiagda, JSC. Some families living in the Bauntovsky-Evenki District found themselves in a difficult life situation. In order to support those who lost their jobs or were left without a livelihood, Khiagda, JSC held a charity event with the support of the Mining Division.
One of the families affected by the spread of coronavirus has five children. Until recently, the grandfather of the family worked in a local cooperative craft association, where he contracted the dangerous virus. Later, COVID-19 was detected in other members of his family. Now they are all either in the hospital or on lockdown. None of the adults are currently working and getting paid. And there are several dozen such families in the district who need help today.
Fifty families in difficult situations received food packages. In the coming days, volunteers will deliver support packages to such remote and inaccessible villages as Dzhilinda and Rossoshino.
