Rosnedra Approved Khiagda Technical Project for Kolichikan Uranium Deposit Development

The Central Commission for the Development of Solid Mineral Deposits of the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation (CKR-TPI Rosnedr) agreed on a technical project for the Kolichikan uranium deposit development presented by Khiagda, JSC (subsidiary of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co./Mining Division of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation).
The Company applies environmentally friendly technologies, works as efficiently and environmentally friendly as possible. «Processing of product solutions will be carried out at the local sorption unit of the Istochnoye deposit. The saturated sorbent obtained here is subsequently transported to the processing facility of the Khiagda deposit, where it will be further treated to obtain finished products (yellow cake),» said Evgeny Gurulev, Deputy Chief Engineer — Chief Geologist of Khiagda, JSC.
The project reserves will be developed for 19 years: from 2021 to 2039.
Let us recall that earlier the Central Commission for the Development of Solid Mineral Deposits of the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation (CKR-TPI Rosnedr) agreed on a technical project for the Dybryn uranium deposit development. The beginning of the infrastructure construction and the field preparation for the development are planned for 2022, the beginning of mining operations is planned for 2023. Currently, the company is developing two deposits of the Khiagda ore field: Khiagda and Istochnoye. The Vershinnoye deposit is scheduled for commissioning in H2 2020.
