In the course of operation of new narrow reef mining machines, they had made suggestions on improvements that helped optimize the process.

A total of more than 600 employees of the country’s largest uranium mining enterprise received recognition and were awarded honourable labour badges ‘For Contribution to the Development of the Nuclear Industry’, ‘Veteran Worker of the Atomic Engineering and Industry’, ‘For Merits to PIMCU’, Honourable Mentions and Certificates of Appreciation from Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation, ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., the Nuclear Industry Trade Union, and the Mayor of Krasnokamensk in the days before the anniversary. The grand meetings and awards ceremonies took place in all PIMCU divisions, including mines, the Sinking Office, the Urtuiskoye Open Cast Mining Office, the leach plant, the Central Research Laboratory, the Independent Paramilitary Mine Rescue Team, etc.

«The Miner’s Day is the most significant holiday for the hard workers of PIMCU, their families and all those who have dedicated their lives to the mining profession. The PIMCU’s multi-thousand team has been working intensively, continuously and dedicatedly to perform a paramount task of providing the Russian nuclear industry with the strategic metal. The miners in Krasnokamensk have added a lot of glorious pages to the history of the development of peaceful atoms. It was you who have mined thousands of tons of natural uranium and who have built many a kilometer of mining excavations. Both, the factory and the city commit themselves to Mine No. 6 as our most important project. Today, no one has any doubts that our key asset will produce the first ton of ore on schedule,» said Vladimir Verkhovtsev when giving his speeches in PIMCU divisions.

Vladimir Vysotsky, Chairman of the Board of E.P. Slavsky PIMCU, PJSC, Ivan Kiselev, Director General of PIMCU, PJSC, and Natalya Dmitrieva, Chairwoman of PIMCU Primary Trade Union, noted the great contribution of the working teams in the stable operation of the enterprise and highlighted the importance and significance of the miners’ work together with high responsibility of PIMCU workers.

Vladimir Verkhovtsev also congratulated employees of the contractors involved in the construction of Mine No. 6 and held a working meeting at the construction site. Vladimir Sergeev, PIMCU’s Deputy Director General for Capital Construction, reported that they would have a test run for the equipment at the mine water treatment plants in autumn. The contractors are currently carrying out works in the office building and are also engaged in landscaping, installing overpasses, trestlework and fences, laying external engineering networks and building internal roads. They also continue to erect the tipple facilities, with the financing provided for the works in full. «To perform work for each of the items on Mine No. 6 construction schedule excellently and in a timely manner is of utmost importance,» said Vladimir Verkhovtsev.
