Vladimir Verkhovtsev awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation

The Decree says that Vladimir Verkhovtsev was awarded «for his great contribution to the development of the nuclear industry and many years of conscientious work». The award ceremony was held as part of the celebration of the Day of the Nuclear Industry Worker.
Presenting the order, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko wished the Director General of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. the implementation of the most ambitious plans and trouble-free operation of uranium mining enterprises. «Our work collective is able to solve the most difficult tasks for the development of the mineral resource base of the nuclear industry as the basis of the nuclear and energy independence of our Motherland,» emphasized Vladimir Verkhovtsev.
Let us remind that Vladimir Verkhovtsev became the Head of the Mining Division of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation in 2013. Since that time, the uranium mining development in Russia has received an additional impetus. In the Trans-Baikal Territory, Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union, PJSC is building a new Mine No. 6. In the Republic of Buryatia, Khiagda, JSC, which is developing the Khiagda ore field deposits, reached the design production capacity. In the Kurgan region, Dalur, JSC has started commercial exploitation of the Khokhlovskoye deposit, and the exploration of the Dobrovolnoye deposit is nearing completion. This allows us to speak with confidence about the uninterrupted supply of the nuclear industry with strategic metal for at least the next hundred years.
Vladimir Verkhovtsev is a Colonel General, from 1977 to 2011 served in various positions in the Armed Forces of the USSR and the Russian Federation. From 2005 to 2011, he headed the 12th Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, which is responsible for nuclear support and the state of nuclear security in the Russian Armed Forces.
