Krasnokamensk Summed Up 8th Annual Socially Oriented Project Grant Competition
Since 2014, the social entrepreneurship development program has been implemented by the ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., the Krasnokamensk Administration and the City Small and Medium Enterprise Support Fund. In total, about RUB 16 million have been allocated for the implementation of 105 initiatives in the last 6 years. Social entrepreneurs and volunteers create new jobs, expand the range of services, address environmental and land improvement issues, organize leisure and sports events.
In 2020, the Competition Committee decided to award 39 best socially oriented projects with financial support in the amount of RUB 3 million. Among the winners is the Belaya Romashka Charitable Foundation, which will help equip a dental office for children undergoing treatment in the regional tuberculosis sanatorium. A special wheelchair will be purchased by the local branch of the National Society of Disabled People. An interactive shooting gallery will be arranged in the Zarnitsa military-patriotic club. The Non-Profit Organization Ucheny Zhiraf is implementing a project aimed at the development of primary technical education for children.
The projects in the «Clean City», «City of Patriots», «Territory of Kindness», «Healthy City» and «Smart City» categories were reviewed. As part of the application campaign, online trainings for participants and a meeting of volunteers were held.«I would like to note that this year the number of projects submitted by volunteers has grown significantly. Among them, I would like to mention the project of the ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. employees to purchase protective suits for medical workers in Krasnokamensk. I would also like to highlight the project of the Gymnasium School No. 9 volunteers, who will create an interactive museum of the Second World War with a map of the Trans-Baikal Front,» said Olga Kanunnikova, Deputy Head of Krasnokamensk, Chairperson of the Competition Committee.
According to Victoria Dolina, CSR and Nonfinancial Reporting Project Manager of Atomredmetzoloto, JSC, it is important that city residents are actively looking for interesting areas to apply their forces to, new opportunities for the development and helping those in need. In 2021, ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. will continue to support the social entrepreneurship development program in Krasnokamensk.
