Director General of PIMCU Ivan Kiselev Spoke at Trans-Baikal Territory Legislative Assembly Council Meeting
Ivan Kiselev told the deputies about implementing the development project of the Argunskoye and Zherlovoye uranium deposits (construction of Mine No. 6). He stressed: «This investment project could not be implemented without the support of the Government and the Legislative Assembly of the Trans-Baikal Territory, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia. Construction of the infrastructure of Mine No. 6 is funded from the federal budget. The progress of work and the use of budget funds are constantly monitored by the competent state authorities and representatives of all levels of the legislative branch. In particular, at the end of 2020, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Trans-Baikal Territory and the State Duma of the Russian Federation made working trips to Krasnokamensk, including the construction site of Mine No. 6. The results of the senators’ working visit were reviewed at the 490th meeting of the Federation Council; the first outcomes of implementing the investment project for the development of the Argunskoye and Zherlovoye uranium deposits were highly appreciated».
The PIMCU’s Director General reported about completing the construction of the mine infrastructure. Mine water treatment plant (MWTP), an underground surge tank, pumping units, a fire station, an office and amenity building, and other facilities had been built. Comprehensive tests of MWTP equipment and construction of mine tipple systems are underway. Ivan Kiselev noted that «The approved schedule for further work will allow us to complete the construction of Mine No. 6 in a timely manner».
Answering questions from deputies, the PIMCU’s Director General told them about the development of existing mines of PIMCU, PJSC. Thus, in August 2020, at a depth of more than 600 m, the 9th horizon of Mine No. 8 was put into operation, allowing for launching four treatment plants in the near future at the Malo-Tulukuevskoye field. At Mine No. 1, in June 2020, a depot was commissioned for the maintenance and repair of mine vehicles; and in 2021, it is planned to start the operation of five new treatment plants. According to Ivan Kiselev, «Preparing additional reserves will allow the extraction of strategic metal at the existing mines until 2035».
Members of the Council of the Legislative Assembly of the Trans-Baikal Territory noted that the dynamic work of the builders of Mine No. 6 is visible to the naked eye. Since 2019, when deputies have started their regular trips to the construction site, new facilities had been built almost quarterly. Ivan Kiselev invited all deputies to visit the town and PIMCU to assess the pace of construction with their own eyes. In Chita, Ivan Kiselev also held a working meeting with Alexander Osipov, the Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory. The discussed the arrangements for the development of Krasnokamensk and implementing the development project of the Argunskoye and Zherlovoye deposits.
Alexander Osipov noted that an effective cooperation between the Government of the Trans-Baikal Territory and ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation, the relevant federal ministries, and PIMCU, PJSC allowed them to timely resolve all issues related to the construction of Mine No. 6.
