Krasnokamensk Hosted Reporting Conference on Results of 7th Annual Socially Oriented Project Grant Competition

Since 2014, the social entrepreneurship development program has been implemented by ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. (Mining Division, ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation), the Krasnokamensk Administration and the City Small and Medium Enterprise Support Fund. Social entrepreneurs and volunteers create new jobs, expand the range of services, address environmental and land improvement issues, organize leisure and sports events.
Welcoming the forum participants, the head of Krasnokamensk, Igor Mudrak, recalled that since 2014, ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. has allocated RUB 16 million for the implementation of 105 initiatives. In 2020, the Competition Committee decided to award 39 best socially oriented projects with financial support in the amount of RUB 3 million. Among the winners is the Belaya Romashka Charitable Foundation, which equipped a dental office for children undergoing treatment in the regional tuberculosis sanatorium. A special wheelchair was purchased by the local branch of the National Society of Disabled People. An interactive shooting gallery was arranged in the Zarnitsa military-patriotic club of the primary trade union organization of PIMCU, and an interactive museum of the Second World War was opened in Gymnasium No. 9.
Victoria Dolina, CSR and Nonfinancial Reporting Project Manager, ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., said that the number of projects submitted by volunteers has grown significantly. Among them is the project of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. employees to purchase protective suits for medical workers in Krasnokamensk. She particularly thanked Nikita Ashikhmin, an actor of the studio theater of the Svoy Sled mining technical school, who purchased audio equipment for the theater using the grant. «On the eve of the conference, I was at the mining technical school for the premiere of the Bring Back the Memory play directed by Ksenia Kaigorodova. A wonderful performance is undoubtedly perceived in a completely different way with an excellent audio,» she said. Individual entrepreneur Svetlana Voronova, Deputy Director for Educational Work of the Krasnokamensk Industrial and Technological College Victoria Uvarova and other grantees shared their personal experience of implementing socially oriented projects.
In the spring 2021, it is planned to start the 8th Grant Competition. Victoria Dolina noted that the amount of support for the social entrepreneurship development program will be increased. Artists from the Springs of Trans-Baikalia municipal ensemble performed for the winners of the competition.
