Igor Semenov Joined Supreme Mining Council of Mining Industrialists of Russia Non-Profit Partnership
Igor Semenov, Chairman of the Board of Directors, ARMZ Mining Machinery, LLC (AMM, subsidiary of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co./Mining Division of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation), joined the Supreme Mining Council of the Mining Industrialists of Russia Non-Profit Partnership (NPP).
The corresponding decision, taking into account the contribution of AMM to the development of high-tech mining engineering in Russia, was made at a joint meeting of the Supreme Mining Council, the Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation on Energy Strategy and Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex and the Academy of Mining Sciences.
The key topic of the meeting was the development of measures to implement the principles of low-carbon development in the mining industry and the procedure for regulating greenhouse gas emissions. The meeting participants came up with a number of initiatives to solve urgent problems of the mineral resource complex development. Among the main ones are the development and implementation in the Russian Federation of an effective government policy and measures aimed at reducing the volume of man-made emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and mitigating climate change in accordance with international obligations.
