70 People from Mining Division in «Rosatom’s Person of the Year» List


For the first time in the history of the «Rosatom’s Person of the Year» industry recognition program, employees of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. (Mining Division of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation) won 12 prizes in special and corporate-wide nominations. In total, 70 employees of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. went up to the New Wave Hall stage in Sochi, where the awards ceremony took place, including in teams and in divisional nominations.

Industry awards were presented to the winners for two years — 2019 and 2020 (due to the pandemic last year, the presentation of «Rosatom’s Person of the Year» awards was postponed). «For two years, we have been living with this idea, preparing for the fact that we are going to gather in Sochi, the Olympic capital, the best people of the State Corporation,» said Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom, opening the award ceremony.

First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko presented a special prize of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation in 8 nominations. «They are all united by three words: breakthrough, record, future. These people have shown an example of achieving something big, when you can break new horizons, do things that you have never done before. In the difficult times of the pandemic, not only to solve the present-day challenges, but also to lay the foundation for the future. During the pandemic, Rosatom set a very important example that inspired people,» he said.

The special prize of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation was awarded to the team of the Electric Power and Engineering Divisions for having hit a new record of electricity generation at Russian nuclear power plants that reached 215.75 billion kWh. A special prize was also awarded to the team of the Machine-Building Division, which set a record for the domestic nuclear machine building industry: during the year, it produced three reactor vessels with in-vessel internals and 18 steam generator units at the Atommash production site for three nuclear power plants of the various countries of the world (Turkey, Bangladesh, and Russia).

A special prize was awarded to the project «Northern Sea Route Reboot» for the historical record achievement of 32.98 million tons of traffic volume along the Northern Sea Route. The team of the Scientific Block and Proryv, JSC was also noted for achieving radiological equivalence in the development of two-component nuclear power based on thermal and fast reactors, which allows to finally solve the problem of spent nuclear fuel. The prize from the hands of Sergey Kiriyenko was also awarded to the team of RPS volunteer leaders against COVID-19 (it included representatives of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation; Rosatom Production System, JSC; ASE, JSC, and the Rosatom Corporate Academy). For the contribution to the victory of Russia at the world championship «WorldSkills Kazan 2019», a special prize was awarded to the Rosatom team, which won two gold medals of the main event out of 14 won by the national team. (The Rosatom team composition: Rosatom Corporate Academy, Atomenergomash, NIIgrafit, CONSYST-Communication Provider, Mayak Production Association). Two special prizes were also awarded to the team of the Nuclear Weapons Complex.

The teams of the Mining Division took the 1st place in the «One Step Ahead» nomination for 2019 (launch of mass production of lithium-ion battery mining equipment), 1st place in the «Efficiency» nomination for 2020 (continuous improvements to reduce costs), 1st place in the «Sustainable Development» nomination for 2020 (implementation of initiatives aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19), 2nd place in the «Sustainable Development» nomination for 2019 (ensuring the sustainable development of the territorial presence). As part of the inter-divisional team of coordinators of volunteer activities during the pandemic, Victoria Dolina received the first prize from the Mining Division.

Having received the merited first prize, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ARMZ Mining Machinery, LLC Igor Semenov, thanked Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation in the person of Alexey Likhachev for supporting the project for the mining equipment production and presented him a new make of a load-haul-dumper.

Ivan Krupyanko (Atomredmetzoloto, JSC) took the 1st place in the «Communication Management» nomination for 2019. The 1st place in the «Purchases, logistics and quality» nomination for 2019 and for 2020 was taken by Maxim Ortyakov and Dmitry Shevtsov (Khiagda, JSC). The diploma for the 3rd place in the «Mentor of the Year» nomination for 2019 was awarded to Anatoly Likhachev (PIMCU, PJSC). The 3rd place in the «Legal and Property Block» nomination for 2019 was awarded to Tatiana Ralko (PIMCU, PJSC), the 3rd place in the «Development and Market Promotion» nomination for 2019 was awarded to Gleb Nosyrev (RUSBURMASH, JSC), the 3rd place in the «Independent control and audit» nomination for 2019 went to Mikhail Kovalenko (RUSBURMASH, JSC), the 3rd place in the «Management of the economy, finance and investments» nomination for 2020 went to Alesya Arsentieva (Atomredmetzoloto, JSC).

Vladimir Verkhovtsev, Director General of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., presented statuettes and diplomas to the employees of the Mining Division in the nominations «Operator-Hydrometallurgist», «Stope Miner», «Geotechnological Wells Operator», and «Drilling Rig Operator». In his welcoming speech, he, in particular, said: «Every day in their workplaces, these people perform a real feat, extracting uranium for the entire industry. During the pandemic, our brave, courageous, responsible miners, mine explorers, operators-hydrometallurgists and representatives of other qualifications did not stop working for a single day. Moreover, we continued to create foundations for the future: the construction of a new mine in Krasnokamensk, geological exploration in the Kurgan region, and the development of new deposits in Buryatia. We reduced costs and process time, implemented digital projects, and expanded new businesses. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the employees of the Mining Division for your titanic work for the benefit of Russia. Because we are a single team!».

Among the operators-hydrometallurgists, Alexey Denisov (Dalur, JSC) won in 2019, and Yaroslav Makarov (PIMCU, PJSC) won in 2020. Sergey Mikhailov (PIMCU, PJSC) was recognized as the best stope miner in 2019, and Evgeny Shleimer (PIMCU, PJSC) in 2020. The best operator of geotechnological wells in 2019 became Dmitry Mirgorod (Khiagda, JSC), in 2020 — Alexey Zakurdaev (Khiagda, JSC). Among the drilling rig operators, Alexander Malenkich (Rusburmash, JSC) won in 2019, Ivan Gorban (Rusburmash, JSC) won in 2020.

Also on the stage of the New Wave Hall in Sochi, the winners of A.P. Alexandrov contest in corporate social responsibility and volunteering were awarded. Victoria Dolina and Ivan Krupyanko (Atomredmetzoloto, JSC) took the first place in the «Best CSR Project» nomination. «The best idea for a social or environmental project» belongs to Ekaterina Karezina (VNIPIpromtechnologii, JSC).
