Special Issue of the Mining Journal Gives Focus to the 70th Anniversary of VNIPIpromtechnologii, JSC
The special issue starts with the greeting from Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation: «The team of the Institute has been contributing substantially to the growth of uranium mining in this country. It is with your involvement that the most powerful uranium production plants were engineered, built and put into operation in the USSR in the 50s-60s of the twentieth century... Now the team of VNIPIpromtechnologii, JSC is engaged in designing and commissioning of Mine No. 6 at the Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union and is grappling with developing the Tomtor rare metal deposit and boosting ISL uranium mining in the Republic of Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory. With these and other projects, the Institute can now face the future with confidence.»

The anniversary issue of the Gornyi Zhurnal (Mining Journal) features stories about the Institute’s history and leaders, plus scientific articles focusing on the latest developments, including Intensification of the Uranium Heap Leaching Process, Growth of the Muruntau-Mutenbay Quarry Cluster, Predictions of Hydrogeomechanical Processes in Water Reservoir Underworking, etc., with all of them being written by employees of the Engineering Center and ARMZ Uranium Holding Co.
