83% of Khiagda’s Employees Got Vaccinated against COVID-19
83% of the employees at Khiagda, JSC (managed by ARMZ Uranium Holding Co./Mining Division of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation) have got vaccinated against COVID-19.
The herd immunity is reached due to the vaccination and revaccination campaigns for the rotation workers. Most employees of the enterprise are engaged on the industrial site in the Bauntovsky-Evenki District of Buryatia, 160 km away from the nearest settlement and, therefore, from any medical institution. Vaccinations are arranged at the Central District Hospital of the Bauntovsky-Evenki District, in the village of Bagdarin.
«If a crew worker arrives for his next shift but has not got vaccinated at home, we provide him with the opportunity to protect his health and the health of his fellow workers. Every week, the all-terrain bus takes those who want to receive a vaccine to and from Bagdarin. It is very convenient as the enterprise has an in-house health station and, once vaccinated, all the employees are kept under medical observation,» said Artem Mikhailov, Deputy Director General, Khiagda, JSC.
It should be noted that the company carries out fast testing among all of its employees upon crew rotation in order to prevent an outbreak. Khiagda, JSC is engaged in uranium extraction in the Bauntovsky-Evenki District, the Republic of Buryatia, using the environmentally friendly ISL method. Currently, they are developing the deposits within the Khiagda ore field.
