PrivateLTE Pilot Project Implemented at Khiagda Production Site

PrivateLTE is a dedicated wireless network isolated from public mobile networks. It allows to enhance security and provide employees with stable communication with high data rates.
The operator at the facility, the control engineer and the employee in the office will now be able to quickly exchange the necessary information, instructions, photo and video files without involving third-party telecom operators. To do this, each of them has a device that looks like a touch phone. «We continue to digitalize process flows. With the introduction of network, the problem of operational data transfer has been solved both at the production site in the Bauntovsky-Evenki District, and at the central office in Chita», said Anatoly Mikhailov, Director General, Khiagda, JSC.
Recall that in 2018, an innovative intelligent technology «Smart Site» for managing the development of uranium deposits by in-situ leaching method was put into operation at the Istochnoye deposit. Then, the company implemented personnel positioning system «Smart Helmets» and a virtual model of a uranium deposit. «The development of new deposits is inextricably linked with the introduction of modern digital processes in production. Khiagda, JSC successfully copes with the tasks set», said Viktor Svyatetskiy, First Deputy Director General, ARMZ Uranium Holding Co.
During a business trip to the enterprise, at a meeting chaired by Viktor Svyatetskiy, the possibility of launching improved «Smart Helmets» pilot project was discussed. Unlike the previous version, the helmet has a built-in video camera. The control engineer will see where the employee is and what he is doing. Also in the new version, such shortcomings as the high sensitivity of the shock sensor, false triggering, error of the GPS chip in terms of setting coordinates have been fixed. The plans call for the connection of a speaking channel. Khiagda, JSC produces uranium using an environmentally-friendly method of in-situ leaching in the Bauntovsky-Evenki District of the Republic of Buryatia. Currently, the company is developing the deposits of the Khiagda ore field.
