Zverinogolovsky District, Kurgan Region: First Operations Facilities Built at Dobrovolnoye Deposit
The buildings and facilities on the pilot in-situ leaching site are being erected by RUSBURMASH, JSC (a specialized company within ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. / Mining Division of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation). They have built an administrative building, a compressor house, a sodium nitrite storage facility, and an operations control center with the total area of more than 150 sq m and have also started interior finishing.
«We have also completed concreting for a pregnant leach solution pond and a sulfuric acid storage facility. At the end of April, we will proceed to the construction of a local sorption unit,» said Gleb Nosyrev, Director General of RUSBURMASH, JSC.
It should be noted that the design documentation and results of the engineering surveys for erecting infrastructure of the pilot site was awarded a positive opinion No. 45-1-1-3-001048-2020 from Glavgosexpertiza of Russia. The right to use the Dobrovolnoye subsoil plot of federal significance for the exploration and production of uranium was granted to Dalur, JSC (managed by ARMZ Uranium Holding Co.) in accordance with Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1131-r published on May 30, 2017. In 2018-2019, following the public hearings, local residents approved the plans of Dalur, JSC to develop the Dobrovolnoye deposit, while no construction or pilot operations would be run in the flood prone areas of the Tobol River.
«The work is progressing in accordance with the schedule and the facilities at the Dobrovolnoye deposit are to be commissioned in December 2022. The mining operations in the Zverinogolovsky District will create more than 300 new jobs and provide strategic metal supplies for the nuclear industry for several decades,» said Dinis Ezhurov, Director General of Dalur, JSC.
