ARMZ Mining Machinery Took Part in MiningWorld Russia

ARMZ Mining Machinery, a Russian manufacturer of mining equipment (Mining Division of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation), presented its battery-powered ARGO LHD 140B load-haul-dumper at the MiningWorld Russia international trade exhibition of machines and equipment for mineral mining, processing and transportation, which was held on April 26-28. ARGO LHDs have been assembled in Russia since 2020 and have been used at mines of E.P. Slavsky PIMCU, PJSC (managed by ARMZ Uranium Holding Co./Mining Division of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation) making up 25% of its fleet.
In addition, the company’s stand displays new lithium-ion batteries, which have been developed and manufactured by RENERA, LLC (Fuel Division of the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation) by request of ARMZ Mining Machinery and would be used for ARGO load-haul dumpers in the future. At the Mining Leaders Forum as part the exhibition, ARMZ Mining Machinery and Zyfra Robotics signed a strategic cooperation agreement. It provides for the joint development of technologies enabling operation of robotic mining equipment in extreme conditions of the Arctic region, which would be trialed on a specialized training site to be deployed at the new lead-zinc field, the Novaya Zemlya Archipelago.
Igor Semenov, Chairman of the Board, ARMZ Mining Machinery, LLC, took part in the MiningWorld Russia panel discussion for leaders of the mining industry to discuss possible anti-crisis strategies that mining companies pursue today, together with representatives of Severstal, SUEK, UMMC, etc. The participants noted that cooperation among all market players and prompt decision-making were of pivotal importance in the current circumstances. «A significant tactical decision that we have made is that we have backed the largest mining companies with respect to supplies of spare parts, components and localized technologies,» said Igor Semenov.
At the panel dedicated to Energy Supply to New Investment Projects in Remote and Isolated Far-Eastern and Arctic Areas, which was organized by the Russian Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) in conjunction with the Distributed Power Generation Association, Igor Semenov spoke about the Pavlovskoye lead-zinc project run away from centralized energy infrastructure and announced support to the FEDC initiative for creating a government assistance mechanism to boost commercial distributed generation in remote and isolated regions.
