E.P. Slavsky PIMCU Gradually Replaces Foreign-Made Equipment with Domestic Machines
In accordance with the investment program, the Company has upgraded its fleet of machinery and purchased high-quality domestic bulldozers and dump trucks. Powerful bulldozers are produced at the Cheboksary Plant of Industrial Tractors under the CHETRA brand. They will be used, in particular, to form rock heaps at the heap leaching site of the Union’s Central Research Laboratory. In addition, these machines will be used on the coal supply line by another Rosatom enterprise: Krasnokamensk Branch of Rusatom Infrastructure Solutions Company.
Russian TONAR dump trucks will transport rock mass from mine shafts. According to Vitaly Cherny, PIMCU’s Director for Transport: «Today, TONAR dump trucks have no counterparts in the country by several parameters, and in terms of their technical performance, they are not inferior to foreign mining dump trucks. I would like to emphasize that domestic machines are easy to operate and repair.» Let us remind that previously, over 25% of the underground machinery park of E.P. Slavsky PIMCU, PJSC have been converted to eco-friendly battery-powered machines of in-house production. The key advantage of Russian ARGO battery-powered vehicles is the absence of harmful emissions, which is very important when creating comfortable working conditions for people in the limited space of a mine.
Converting the uranium mining to domestic special equipment is not only a contribution to the import substitution program, but also an additional guarantee of stable operation and further development of this industry which is strategically important for the country.
