Vladimir Verkhovtsev Had On-The-Spot Visit to Krasnokamensk and Took Part in Memory and Mourning Day
June 22, like the rest of the country, the Uranium capital of Russia held a commemoration event. Residents of Krasnokamensk honored the victims of the Great Patriotic War at the Memorial to the Trans-Baikal Warriors.
In his speech, Vladimir Verkhovtsev, Director General of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., said, among other things, that: «Today is one of the most tragic days in the history of our country. First, I would like to address the younger generation, the Young Army cadets and participants of the Zarnitsa club who are present here. Remember that 27 million of our citizens died for the Victory. All of these 27 million people will live as long as we remember them. This is our mission to convey the memory about this to the future generations».
At 12 o’clock 15 minutes at noon, Moscow time, like in all regions throughout the country, the meeting was interrupted by the National Moment’s Silence. This is the exact time when the address to the Soviet nation about Germany’s invasion of the Soviet Union went on the air in 1941.
Many words about duty, the Homeland, the pain of losses, patriotism and pride in our country were told at the Memorial to the Trans-Baikal Warriors and the event finished with the Candle of Memory action. In addition, during his on-the-spot visit to Krasnokamensk, Vladimir Verkhovtsev held some toolbox talks at Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union (PIMCU), the city’s backbone enterprise managed by ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. He visited the construction site of new Mine No. 6, the leach plant, and the Urtuiskoye Open Cast Mining Office. Particularly, CEO of the Rosatom Mining Division listened to follow-up reports and reviewed the 5-month results, deliverables and H1 production program forecast. Vladimir Verkhovtsev also had a traditional meeting with the foremen of PIMCU’s key units and facilities.
