E.P. Slavsky PIMCU has equipped the production shafts at its underground mines No. 1 and No. 8 with new mining equipment
The mine hoists of 14-RESH and 5-V shafts are used to lift and carry down miners, mined rock and tools. Of course, they would be subjected to regular flaw inspections with further replacement of deteriorated equipment as this is the key to safety.
«The employees of the Production Support Directorate have replaced the brake cables in production shafts. This process is complicated, laborious and consuming and involves a lot of manual labor, while the weight of one cable may reach up to 10 tons. The teams have coped the task of the cable replacement during four shifts,» said Alexander Rabolt, First Deputy Director General — Chief Engineer of PIMCU, PJSC. In addition, they have completed repairs of the roof and welfare buildings at PIMCU’s Repair and Mechanical Plant as part of the scheduled activities. They have actually replaced the roof of the office and amenity building, have also re-waterproofed, and tiled the floors in the shower rooms.
